When PR friend Beth emailed with “Experience Hendrix” in the subject, she knew I’d immediately round up a dozen buddies who agree with me: Jimi Hendrix was the best electric guitarist ever.
Last fall, when Beth had emailed me about the January Gregg Allman tribute at The Fox, we bought 60 tickets immediately. This time we’ll have a smaller, but very devoted group of fans.
When Jimi died on Sept. 18, 1970, most of us were just unwrapping his early albums. Happily, his family keeps us intrigued, occasionally publishing new posthumous recordings – rekindling our regret of never seeing Jimi live.
