“When you pray, you got nothing to worry about.”
By his own reckoning, 106-year-old Charlie Surry has led a charmed life.
Growing up near Dublin, GA, Charlie earned $15 a week taking care of a few mules. He served our country in World War II “and I didn’t have to kill no one.”
He moved to Atlanta to get a good job. He kept it for 39 years, until he couldn’t lift the heavy items anymore.
Today, he lives in a National Church Residences community in south Atlanta, and his younger brother is just down the hall. (He is 96!)
His secret? Just two words. First one is “Try.”
