Though she’s made a career as a back-up singer for famous artists including The Rolling Stones, Tina Turner and Dolly Parton, American singer and songwriter Lisa Fischer is far from anonymous.
The Grammy Award-winning singer – who first rose to fame in 1991 with her debut album So Intense – regularly tours with The Rolling Stones and on her own. Fischer was recently featured in the 2013 Oscar-winning documentary film, 20 Feet from Stardom, which explores the lives of minority female backup singers.
On Saturday, September 19, Lisa Fischer and Grand Baton will perform at Variety Playhouse. Tickets are still available online.
