Millennial Villages

by admin

Atlanta currently has the worst housing shortage in the nation while rents continue climbing past inflation. To solve this problem, it could take a village – a “millennial village.”

In Boston, a 10,000-unit millennial village, comprised of efficient micro-units ranging from 300-600 square feet with shared living space, is being proposed to provide housing for urbanites struggling to find affordable housing.

These new-age dorm rooms put a premium on flexible community spaces, modern amenities and public transit connection at the expense of personal space. Millennial villages’ mixed-use space will also include restaurants, office and retail.

Seems like a great solutions. Would have loved living there when I was young and single. Could Also be a great way to include individuals with Developmental disabilities to have independent housing with nearby support system of typical peers.
