Last weekend, I spent the morning pruning overgrown shrubs at Global Growers, a community farm that specializes in serving refugees, followed by drinks with the volunteers at Grant Park’s Eventide Brewing.
This “Service Made Social” program was made possible by Community Bucket. Since its inception, more than 1,700 volunteers have performed 11,000 service hours for 35 community partners. Projects include making lunches for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, cleaning the PAWS Atlanta shelter and landscaping at Kittredge Park – followed by celebrations at Monday Night Brewing and Marlow’s Tavern.
