Atlanta’s Emerald Necklace

by admin

Connectivity in Atlanta doesn’t have to be solely defined as the Atlanta BeltLine or PATH400. One particular area that has recently received mainstream attention from placemakers, but needs more advocates, is a lush 12-mile greenway along Peachtree Creek, which could connect the BeltLine to Doraville.

The path would include parts of Brookhaven, Chamblee and DeKalb County. Developing this area would be a huge amenity for the region, adding connectivity, green space, real estate value and improved water quality to Atlanta’s Northeast.

With proper planning and design, the lush corridor could one day be commonly known as “Atlanta’s Emerald Necklace.”
