Tickle the Ivories at Atlanta’s Public Pianos

by

The streets of Atlanta are coming alive with the sound of music, thanks to a new Georgia non-profit, Play Me Again Pianos. After installing its first free public piano at Chastain Park, the organization just unveiled a second at Midtown’s Woodruff Arts Center.

The new installation was celebrated last weekend with a performance by 11-year-old pianist Nico Bret. With the help of their students, Springmont art teachers Theresa Dean and Courtney Denis designed and painted the piano’s butterfly theme.

This is the first of two installations coming to Woodruff, with plans for additional pianos at Colony Square.
